International Development Collaborative (IDC)
The mission of IDC is to encourage and assist in the creation of sustainable entrepreneurial micro-enterprises in rural villages of developing countries. The formation of IDC was sparked when ten OSU graduate students that traveled to Bolivia and experienced the impoverished communities.
IDC began its journey to connect the women of Bolivia with The Ohio State University market through officially licensed "Block O" alpaca wool scarves. They could create an alternative market and significantly improve the standard of living of individuals who survive on less than $2 a day. IDCVillage website
Winners of the 2008 Stanford Entrepreneurship Challenge: Global Embrace
This student team of first time entrepreneurs designed a low cost infant warmer with the goal of saving the lives of 100,000 babies in developing countries. Their sustainable social venture has received over $500,000 in seed funding and entering the final stages of commercialization. Learn more»
DriveBUV – Changing Lives
IAT is devoted to improving the lives of the world’s poor by providing simple, low-cost vehicles to facilitate community transportation. The designs created by student teams have been deployed throughout Africa. Learn more
